Spring Snow Hiking Is A Real "Jump Off" in The Smokies

Today I decided to chase snow for a Day Hike in the High Country of the Smokies. Starting at Newfound Gap I headed up the Appalachian Trail (AT), but instead of going to Charlies Bunion I instead went to the Jump Off (more on why this was the right call later).

Then I headed to Icewater Springs Shelter and helped an ATC Trail Runner, Chloe, to haul out some trash. On the way back I broke my Black Bear drought seeing my first of 2018. Great end to a great day.
