Deb and I headed out to Sawnee Mountain Perserve for a 4+ mile hike. While it was nice on Sawnee Mountain, with mostly clear skies the views were not great. When we reached the Indian Seats because of the haze Atlanta was barely visible and Stone Mountain couldn't be seen at all. Then the view of the North Georgia Mountains was obscured by clouds as only Mt. Oglethorpe and Yonah Mountain could be seen clearly. When I was at Yonah on Thursday I could see Atlanta better than at Sawnee today. Also, it was crowded at the Seats on this Sunday morning. There was one cool thing I spotted on the way back. Across Tribble Gap Road work can be spotted on the trail that is going up towards Big Sawnee Mountain, awesome! Anyway it was a good day as always on Little Sawnee Mountain.
