The Reign Of Snow Miser Or How They Got The Forecast Wrong...Again!

There was a fight here Monday evening as Snow and Heat Miser locked horns, oh and we were on the front line here in Dawsonville. In this part of North Georgia the Snow Miser got the upper hand as things went from rainy to icy. Now we didn't have it as bad as they did in Rabun, Union and the rest of the counties north of here. However, we did lose power on a number of occasions (which meant my satellite had to reboot each time), but it could be worse. Still, our trusty weather forecasters got this winter event WRONG...again! They said it would be a rain event where I lived, saying a warm front would move over us, which didn't happen. Thanks again Glen Burns.

Trees icing up Monday evening.
Notice that poor little tree bent over from the ice.

Ice on the cars.

Bush outside our apartment was crusted with ice...

...so was my car.

Ice this morning.

Ice on our little creek.

Icicles!

Ice, ice baby.

These tree feel the weight of the ice...

...this broke under it.

More icy pines.

Icy tree at our apartment gate.

Sad to see this pine buckle under the ice...

...but the ice...

...is beautiful.

Icy creek.

Ice hanging from my car antenna.

**Update 02-18-15**

Snow Miser made his presents known again today as we had finally got some snow. While just a dusting it was cool. Tonight it is going to get cold with temperatures in the single digits and negative wind chills. In the mountains tonight wind chills could approach -30…now that is COLD!

Our cars & snow.

I love snow.

Snow...

...& more snow.

While the snow did last long the ice has.
