More From Gold Branch Trail At CRNRA

Well, here are more photos from our Thursday Hike Georgia's group outing on the Gold Branch Trail at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. It was about 12 degrees when we started!

Entrance to Gold Branch.

Start of the trail.

Blue blazed trail

First footbridge.

Ice on the water.

Blue blaze & graffiti.

Chattahoochee River becomes Bull Sluice Lake.

The trail got steep here.
Below this rock with icicles someone built...

...a lean-to.

One of the islands

It was brisk!

There was ice on the water.

Another look at the water.

Ken, Lori, John & Beth...our group of hardy hikers!

Footbridge...

...we crossed...

...over Gold Branch.

The river/lake was lovely.

Here are some tree fungus.

Even with the cold this crane was on the water.

Soccer ball.

Crossing a log bridge.

I have not seen as much frost on the trail this winter.

I know these Honkers would like warmer weather.

Morgan Falls Overlook Park...

...Morgan Falls Dam...

...& Bull Sluice Lake.

Our group headed up...

...the final stretch.

Spot of recently downed trees.

We passed this old car...

...which had a photo telling what it was a 60's Mercury Comet...

...yes those are bullet holes!

X marks the trail.

The home stretch...

of our hike today.
