A Slice Of Nature On New Trail In Greeneville

Sunday morning Deb, her Mom and I headed out to a new trail in Greeneville...the Takoma Creation Health Nature Trail. This isn't the first walking/hiking trail built by a hospital, Deb and I have been walking the paved one-mile around Laughlin Hospital for years.

The Laughlin Memorial Hospital...

...Wellness Trail.

What makes this one different is that it is a 1.2-mile loop that is a hiking trail. it is a dirt path with some good uphill spots. There is also a number of benches with signs and some ways to improve your life. kind of like a "life coach." It reminds me a little of the Laurel Run Trail at Buford Park. Besides the wide trail, the Andrew Johnson Overlook is grown up like a number of the ones on the trail near Buford Dam. I learned about the Takoma Nature Trail last weekend when Deb's family read a story about it in the Greeneville Sun. So, we headed over to the trailhead at Veterans Memorial Park (the other is above Takoma Hospital) to give it a try and I was impressed.

One of the trailhead is at Veterans Memorial Park...

...& wildflowers like Oxeye Daisy.

Start of the Tacoma Hospital trailhead.

There was some nice uphill.

It is a nice trail.

If you are looking for a more hiking like experience then this trail is better than the one at Laughlin Hospital. Oh, there were also some nice wildflowers. Anyway, if you want a slice of the outdoors then the Nature Trail maybe for you. The grand opening for the park is this Sunday.
