Well, it is the end of the first week of Syrup Making 2018. I am not calling Maple Syrup Making because yesterday we did finally tap a Sycamore Tree because I have been interested in doing this since seeing it being done on Live Free or Die a few years ago.
We also tapped a Silver Maple, however, they have yet to show any sap. That is not the case with our Sugar Maples as they have produced some, about a gallon and a half. sounds like a lot, but it really isn't when you cook it down. I also had to throw out some of the sap because my bucket leaked and it was mostly rainwater, but I fixed that with a plastic bag. Anyway, that is all for now.
