Rich Mountain From....


Rich Mountain...there are plenty of higher peaks in the Blue Ridge and on the Appalachian Trail (AT). However, it is a personal favorite of mine and with its refurbished fire tower it is one of the better AT hikes in the Bald Mountains. The mountain stands above Hot Springs in Madison County, NC. However, unlike Camp Creek Bald or Mount LeConte it doesn't stand out, so it is hard to spot at times. Because of the fact that the fire tower was refurbished in 2018, a number of the pictures (especially near the summit) will be skewed towards my last two hikes up to the summit.
