Third Annual Halloween Hike At Margarette Falls

It is Halloween and that means the third annual holiday hike. I have decided to make this a yearly hike to Margarette Falls in Greene County. The Halloween hike has always been about waterfalls. The first year was in 2014 and it was at Anna Ruby Falls with Hike Georgia. Last year I went with Glen, Donna, and Charlie to Margarette Falls.

Anna Ruby Falls in 2014.

Last year with Glen, Donna & Charlie on the way to...

...Margarette Falls.

So I decided to make it an annual event. The hike was full of fall colors and I climbed down to another small waterfall, I am calling Dry Creek Falls, before reaching Margarette Falls. One thing I found out today, it is bear season (spotted dogs & men with guns), but over it was a nice Halloween Hike.

At the parking area.

Headed up the trail.

Trail with color.

Dry Creek where the trail splits....

...I go right.

There was a lot of autumn colors on the trail.

At the footbridge...

...creek from the bridge.

There are some rocky spots on the trail.

Dry Creek Falls reminds me of the Devil's Bathtub.

Steps on the trail.

Rock waterfall.

More water & fall colors.

Cathedral Rock.

I have arrived...

...at Margarette Falls.

More leaves & water.

Tried after a day looking for bears.

The homestretch...

...with autumn colors.
