Like the title of this blog says the difference between Tuesday and Wednesday was like night and day. When I went to Weaver's Bend and hiked up to Chimney Rocks.
Tuesday clear at Chimney Rocks. |
It was a relatively clear day, but just a day later (Wednesday) there would be a thick layer of smoke. Unless you are living under a rock you know it is because of the numerous wildfires across the Southeast, which I ranted about here. The smoke Wednesday was worse than any that I saw in Georgia last week and here in Tennessee at any time.
Last week in Georgia. |
Wednesday.... |
...the Bald Mountains weren't visable... |
...it covered the whole region. |
It wasn't a total surprise because watching the news out of Asheville on Tuesday night Western North Carolina was covered in a smoky shroud. Well, the winds changed direction and that brought that smoke to Eastern Tennessee. Here is hoping we get a change in the weather (I can hear it raining outside as I write).
