I guess it is now yesterday but Friday was the annual Roan Mountain Cook-out and Fireworks at Glen's mom's. Once again I got the honor of going to this family gathering. It was even better, on this day; for two reasons; I got to help pick out the fireworks and we also made a detour to Elk River Falls. I am going to write a little more later but let's just say that for a while it looked like we might get rained out. There were showers in Greeneville when we got the fireworks, but when we got to Roan Mountain it was pouring the rain. It was still raining hard when we reached the falls just down the road in Elk Park, NC. It stopped for a bit when we were about to eat the skies opened again. However, as night fell the rain stopped and we got most of the fireworks in, including the one called the Death Rattle that I picked out. Once again this Wood Booger had a great time!
