Well, today I was back in the area of the Smokies (see Friday), but this outing was in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the other side of Newfound Gap at the Smokemont Campground with members of the Harvey Broome Group of the Sierra Club. The hike was an 11-mile out-and-back to Campsite Number 49. Most of the hike was on the Bradley Fork Trail, but a little of the trail merged with the Benton MacKaye Trail. It wasn't too steep so it wasn't the most difficult 11 miles and there were plenty of wildflowers. Overall it was a great hike with a great group.
