Little Sawnee Wildflower Sunday Spectacular

I love going to Sawnee Mountain there are bigger mountains and longer trails, but it is days like this past Sunday that illustrate this point. For an “urban mountain” not many places have as many wildflowers as Sawnee. That is what Deb and I described this past Mother’s Day as wildflower Sunday. There were some of my favorites in full bloom like Mountain Laurel and Piedmont Rhododendrons. Then there were some that have been on display for some time like Fire Pink, Rattlesnake Weed and Yellow Wood Sorrell. Finally some new ones like Carolina Allspice, Indian Physic and Foam Flower. So, here is a photo blog of our day out on Wildflower Sunday or take a look back at my quick blog of the day.
