Two-Day Blog On The Grayson Highlands

This weekend I spent backpacking in the Grayson Highlands. I will blog more extensively over the coming days (and Pete has a lot to say) but this was Will's annual Sierra Club Backpack. We started in Grayson Highlands State Park and hiked into the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. Let just say the first part of the day was about rain because it did a lot of it. We even had to cross a swollen creek. But fortunately the rain passed and we got to the place we camp last year and got no rain the rest of the evening.

Then, on Sunday, it actually cleared off for a nice hike back to Massie Gap. We finished the day with a return to La Cucina Italian Kitchen in Mountain City. I had Orecchiette Asparagus, which also had mushrooms and was very good. I then had Tiramisu for desert. Once again a great weekend with even better people.
